Cogeneration Power Plants

A Combined heat and power plant, CHP-power station, CHP-plant is a power plant that uses a heat engine or a power plant to simultaneously generate both electricity and useful heat. Cogeneration is a thermodynamically use of fuel. In separate production of electricity some energy must be rejected as waste heat, but in cogeneration this thermal energy is put to good use. CHP is one of the most cost efficient methods of reducing carbon emissions of heating in cold climates. Industrial cogeneration plants can be complex plants to operate, due to their large number of boilers/turbines, high reliability and availability requirements, complex operating conditions as well as energy trading opportunities.

Below you will find ABB's solutions applicable to cogeneration power plants. The ABB Integration Experts can combine these solutions with innovative products creating complete power plant systems including instrumentation, control and electrical equipment. Based on years of power plant process experience ABB's experts will ensure that your power plant system functions safely, reliably and economically.
