WaterMaster flowmeter achieves closed pipe MCERTS conformity certificate

2008-11-06 - ABB has announced that the WaterMaster flowmeter is one of the first to gain the closed pipe conformity certificate for MCERTS.

The NEW WaterMaster electromagnetic flowmeters sets the standard for water, waste water, sewage and effluent flow measurement and management – a capability that is now enhanced with the MCERTS certification to the highest performance Class 1 level.

WaterMaster's best-in-class technology delivers previously unattainable operational and financial benefits in the often challenging environment of today's water industry applications.

The specification, features and user benefits offered by the WaterMaster range are all based on ABB's worldwide experience in the water, wastewater and sewage industries – and are all targeted at the industry's specific requirements.

WaterMaster helps users to reduce costs without reducing functionality and is fully-loaded with technical advances, each delivering clear business and performance benefits:

    • Superior control through advanced sensor design
    • Submersible and buriable installation options
    • Intuitive navigation and configuration
    • Improved performance through digital signal processing (DSP)
    • 'Fit and Flow' data storage with security in the field
    • Robust and reliable diagnostics for rapid decision making
    • Powerful and flexible transmitter simplifies operation, maintenance and training and reduces cost of ownership

Commenting on the importance of MCERTS, Chief Executive Dr Paul Leinster says on the EA web site, “The Environment Agency is committed to protecting and improving the environment in England and Wales and our Monitoring Certification Scheme, MCERTS, helps us to achieve this by giving us confidence in monitoring data provided by operators. It makes clear what we expect, whether monitoring emissions to air, discharges to water or analysing soils. MCERTS covers monitoring equipment, laboratories carrying out testing, and effluent flow monitoring arrangements. MCERTS is already mandatory as a condition in many of the permits we issue and will be extended to others in the future as part of our commitment to modernising regulation.”

WaterMaster delivers speed, simplicity and ease of use at every stage of the process. The new design, with the added MCERTS certification, raises the bar to the next level for all water, waste water and sewage industry applications.
